Join Lara for an interactive exploration of beautiful healing rhythms, dances and songs from West Africa. Participants are guided through an engaging exploration of traditional music, movement and indigenous instruments. Individual expression, teamwork, performing arts, diversity and wellness are highlighted.
Lara is a multidisciplinary, humanitarian artist and arts educator whose belief is that creativity is our essence, and art is for everyone. She is moved to engage the creative and performing arts to open pathways for self-knowledge, healing, empowerment, intention, and awareness; and to be of service to herself and others in this capacity.

A passionate creator and lifelong dancer, Lara has studied West African music and dance for nearly 30 years including traveling to Guinea 5 times – and counting.
Lara has been sharing her artistic passions as performing and teaching artists for all ages and abilities for 25 years. She is the founder and artistic director of her performing & educational group – Marafanyi Drum, Dance & Song.
