Drumming and Singing for Wellness
Drumming and singing are basic elements of music making. All we really need are our bodies to express rhythm and are our voices to sing. As humans we express ourselves through music naturally. Recent research shows that drumming and singing have been shown to have analgesic effects, reducing
pain perception and improving pain management. By engaging in active music making we hope to shift people from yet another day of ‘enduring pain’ to having joyful, fun times and feeling connected to others.
Vocalist Gabriele Tranchina is musically at home in many styles. With a strong background in Jazz, she moves between Jazz, Latin and World, making her a perfect crossover artist. In her work as an educator, Gabriele is certified Level III in Somatic Voicework™, offering voice lessons to all ages with a mind/body approach. She conducts workshops and clinics in singing, voice technique and jazz, as well as drumming circles. Gabriele believes in the healing power of music. Many of her workshops are geared specifically to wellness. She also has been teaching early childhood music and movement classes in New York for many years.

Movement and Dance
This movement workshop will begin with a gentle warm-up. After that, it will transition into a session in which gestures, words, and movement are used to explore thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Facilitator Maureen (Moe) Glennon Clayton is a breast cancer survivor who wants to help others grow stronger, physically and mentally, through her love of dancing. Moe really believes that healing happens through movement. No dance experience is necessary. Following the workshop, moe-tion dance theater will perform “Waiting Room,” by guest choreographer Lisa Peluso.
Established in 2007, moe-tion dance theater is a contemporary modern dance theater company based in NJ.
Under the direction of Maureen (Moe) Glennon Clayton, the company has performed at numerous festivals, showcases, and venues throughout the tri-state area. Maureen holds a full-time teaching position for the Gifted & Talented Honors Dance Program at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School in Bridgewater. She has previously been on faculty at County College of Morris, where she earned her AS in Recreation & Leisure/Dance, and Montclair State University, where she earned her BFA in Dance. In December 2022, Maureen graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, where she received her MA in Dance Education.

Sound Healing Meditation Concert
Sound therapy helps us to shift away from the vibrational frequencies of stress, anger, fear, and negativity. The vibrations of the Himalayan Singing Bowls help to tune us at the cellular level, creating harmony that radiates through our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers. Benefits can include deep relaxation, stress reduction, lower blood pressure, improved concentration, increased creativity and heightened intuition. The peace and healing that you look for will be received via the vibration, and positive energy emitted through the bowls.
Sandee is an Intuitive Healer and Energy Alchemist who follows her intuition to make her healing sessions soothing to the soul. She has been practicing sound healing since 2007 and energetic healing work since 2015. Sandee is a certified Reiki II practitioner and with the support of her guides and her soul, she received downloads for her own modality “Unconditional Elemental Energy Flow” as she connects to each of the Elements, Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Ether.
